Two Star Vessels Shine at the Yangtze Estuary——Nantong Haijing Supports High-end Ship Delivery

At 10:50 on April 26, 2026, a highlight moment unfolded over the waters of the Yangtze Estuary. Georgetown, China’s first independently designed and built 180,000 CBM large-scale LNG carrier, was officially delivered at the China Merchants Heavy Industry terminal in Nantong, Jiangsu (Figure 1). With an overall length of 298.1m and a molded breadth of 48m, the vessel is equipped with an advanced dual-fuel low-speed propulsion system. It features lower boil-off loss, superior energy-saving performance and higher environmental protection standards, setting a new benchmark for the construction of ultra-large LNG carriers in China.

Behind this landmark project, Nantong Haijing Ship Decoration Co., Ltd. acted as the general contractor for interior outfitting works and participated in the whole process of project construction. Providing an integrated solution covering design development, material integration and construction implementation, the company built high-standard and high-quality living and functional spaces on board. Notably, on the delivery day, Celisius Georgetown made a stunning appearance together with China’s first large luxury cruise ship Adora Magic City at the Yangtze Estuary (Figure 2). One is a maritime giant dedicated to clean energy transportation, and the other a magnificent “city at sea” representing high-end manufacturing and service capability. The shining encounter of the two iconic vessels serves as a vivid portrayal of the comprehensive strength of China’s high-end shipbuilding industry. Nantong Haijing has been deeply involved in the construction of both landmark vessels: undertaking the general interior outfitting contract for the LNG carrier, and completing cabin works, galley systems and special insulation works for the luxury cruise ship, demonstrating its solid comprehensive strength in the field of high-end ship supporting services.
